Former Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page, known for his role as Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings, is returning to Netflix as lead actor and executive producer of an erotic thriller series. The project, which reportedly reached Netflix after a bidding war involving several major streaming platforms, comes from screenwriter Matthew Barry (Industry). Hancock Park is named after the historic and affluent Los Angeles neighborhood that has been (or is) home, among others, to Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos and Bridgerton executive producer Shonda Rhimes.
The story centers on a dangerously charismatic outsider — played by Page — who rents the guesthouse of an apparently perfect Los Angeles family. As he becomes entangled in their world, the polished façade of this elite community begins to crack, revealing the desire, deceit, and obsession simmering beneath the surface of one of LA’s most coveted enclaves.

The production

The series is being produced by Fifth Season, the studio behind the project, which currently holds a first-look deal with Comins.

Regé-Jean Page‘s projects
Page holds a rare distinction on Netflix: he appears on the streamer’s Top 10 most popular English-language lists with both a series (Bridgerton Season 1) and a film (The Gray Man). His breakout role as the Duke of Hastings in the Regency-era romance made him an international star, and since then he has shifted his focus primarily to film. He went on to co-star in The Gray Man alongside Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans, appear in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, lead Steven Soderbergh’s spy thriller Black Bag, and headline Universal’s upcoming romantic comedy You, Me & Tuscany with Halle Bailey, scheduled for release in April.

Through their company A Mighty Stranger, Page and Brown are also developing a film inspired by The Count of Monte Cristo at Department M, with Page attached to star. They are additionally working on Funny You Should Ask, a TV adaptation of Elissa Sussman’s bestselling novel. The project, in development at Apple with Tomorrow Studios, is likewise envisioned as a starring vehicle for Page.
