The entertainment world is mourning the loss of Isabelle “Izzy” Tate, the young actress known for her role in the pilot of 9-1-1: Nashville, the new spin-off of Ryan Murphy’s hit television franchise 9-1-1. Tate passed away at just 23 years old.
The actress passed away on Sunday, October 19. The news was confirmed by The McCray Agency in Nashville, which represented the actress, in an emotional post shared on social media: “We are deeply saddened and completely heartbroken to share that Isabelle Tate has left us,” wrote Kim McCray, head of the agency. “I’ve known Izzy since she was a teenager and she recently returned to acting. She booked the first series she auditioned for, 9-1-1: Nashville. She had a wonderful time.”
The illness
According to the statement, Tate had been living with a rare form of Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease, a hereditary neurological disorder that affects motor nerves. It is one of the most common inherited neuromuscular conditions, characterized by muscle weakness and loss of sensation in the arms and legs. Symptoms vary greatly from person to person and can appear at any age.
Tate was a rising star
Isabelle Tate was from Nashville, Tennessee. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University, where she studied business, but her true passion had always been acting. In 2024, she landed her first significant role – portraying Julie in the pilot episode of the series 9-1-1: Nashville, a spin-off of the popular show 9-1-1. Although her role in the production marked the beginning of her career, Tate’s performance was warmly received and promised a bright future.
Colleagues and friends describe her as a person full of energy, kindness, and passion. “Izzy had her whole life and the career she had dreamed of since childhood ahead of her,” wrote one of her co-stars. In a short time, she managed to win the affection of the community, and her sudden death has left a huge void.
