The Padín war isn’t over. Gangs of Galicia Season 2 premieres April 3 on Netflix, with Ana and Daniel on opposite sides of a new criminal battle.
Three years after betrayal fractured the Padín empire, the Atlantic coast of Galicia is heading back into war. Netflix has confirmed that Gangs of Galicia (known locally as Clanes) will return in April 2026 — and this time, the conflict is no longer hidden in shadows.
Season 1 turned quiet coastal towns into pressure chambers of loyalty, inheritance, and emotional compromise. Season 2 raises the stakes: Ana and Daniel are no longer circling each other inside the same system — they’re standing on opposite sides of it. What began as infiltration now becomes open confrontation.

What Gangs of Galicia Season 2 is about
Netflix’s official Season 2 setup is built on one brutal idea: Ana and Daniel are pulled back into the drug-trafficking world, but now they’re standing on opposite sides. Daniel agrees to go out to sea one last time to help his father, while Ana returns to Cambados and works with the Padíns’ rival clan — fully aware it could mean the end of the Padíns, and probably the end of her relationship with Daniel.
The key shift is structural. Season 1 was driven by infiltration, discovery, and the dangerous intimacy of getting close to a clan from the inside. Season 2 converts that pressure into strategy and retaliation, with the past no longer hidden — and choices no longer reversible.

Who’s in the cast for Season 2?
Season 2 brings back the two leads: Clara Lago returns as Ana, and Tamar Novas returns as Daniel. Netflix also confirmed that Luis Zahera joins the new season, alongside returning and additional cast members including Xosé Antonio Touriñán, Melania Cruz, Miguel de Lira, María Pujalte, Chechu Salgado, and Diego Anido (among others).
Behind the scenes: writers, directors, and production
Netflix confirmed that the new episodes are written by Jorge Guerricaechevarría and directed by Marc Vigil and Javier Rodríguez. The series is produced by Vaca Films, continuing the same production backbone that helped Season 1 feel grounded in a specific place — and a specific criminal ecosystem.
Season 1 recap: how the war began
Season 1 of Gangs of Galicia (released on Netflix on June 21, 2024) opens with a death that changes everything. When Ana’s father is murdered, the shock quickly becomes suspicion — and then obsession — as Ana begins to discover that the man she thought she knew had a hidden double life tied to a Galician drug cartel.

Ana’s path to answers turns into a calculated infiltration. She embeds herself in the world that may have taken her father from her, and the series makes the seduction of proximity part of the danger: the closer she gets, the harder it becomes to separate motive from emotion, and justice from attachment. That’s where Daniel enters the story: the visible face of the Padín operation while his father remains in prison. Rather than framing him as a simple villain, Season 1 treats Daniel as an heir navigating inherited power, loyalty, and the suffocating expectations of a criminal dynasty — precisely the kind of character who can be both threat and refuge in the same scene.
Set in and around Galicia’s coastal towns, the show’s tension comes from how crime blends into everyday life. Businesses, family structures, and community silence overlap until “the clan” stops being a distant underworld and becomes the environment. By the end of Season 1, Ana’s pursuit of truth has disrupted the balance that kept the Padíns stable — leaving fractures that Season 2 is now ready to widen into open conflict.
