  • Original title: Ginny & Georgia
  • Genre: Dramedy, family thriller
  • Country of production: United States
  • Original language: English
  • Year: Upcoming – Season 4
  • Seasons: 4 (confirmed)
  • Creator: Sarah Lampert

The new chapter will explore the theme of cycles and origins: Georgia is pregnant, but it’s unclear whether the father is her husband Paul (Scott Porter) or Joe (Raymond Ablack), the only man with whom she truly feels herself. But the real surprise is the return – both physical and symbolic – of the past: her abusive mother and stepfather, from whom Georgia has always tried to escape, suddenly reappear in her life. Even her biological father, absent for decades, calls from prison to reveal an unsuspected truth.

Brianne Howey (Georgia) will take on one of the most complex performances in the series, while Antonia Gentry (Ginny) is preparing to show a new side of her character: “Ginny is becoming Georgia,” the actress tells TUDUM. More determined, more self-aware, and – perhaps – more dangerous. Her relationship with her father Zion (Nathan Mitchell), now in the running for joint custody, opens a glimpse into a transformative summer culminating in a trip to Korea that changes her profoundly.

The end of season three left Georgia devastated: Austin set up his father, Gil, for a murder actually committed by her, pushed by Ginny. Manipulation, lies, and survival instincts intertwined so deeply they reflected directly on the children. This is the most unsettling mirror for Georgia, who finally starts to see therapy not as an option, but as a necessity. “She’s beginning to understand that the damage has already passed from generation to generation,” reveals Howey.

Here are the new main characters and their roles. Ali Skovbye plays Rainn, a central character whose emotional journey drives a significant part of the narrative. The Canadian actress is already known to audiences for Firefly Lane, where she played a key role in the show’s younger timeline, and more recently from the project Whistle. Her presence helps anchor the character in a richly nuanced dramatic context.

Kataem O’Connor plays Isaiah, a rising face in North American television. After participating in the film 40 Acres and the series The Way Home, O’Connor has also gained experience in long-running productions like Murdoch Mysteries. His character brings narrative energy that intertwines with the family and community dynamics at the story’s core.

Sunny Mabrey brings Daisy to life, a figure who enters the plot adding a more adult and complex dimension. The actress has a varied career spanning feature films—including Cape Fear—and numerous series such as the political thriller The Night Agent, the superhero show Gotham Knights, and the crime procedural Will Trent. Her versatility helps define a character with a strong stage presence.

Is it based on a true story?

Ginny & Georgia is an original work, not based on a book or on real-life events, but crafted with great attention to themes of dysfunctional motherhood, trauma, and emotional legacy. The approach to family storytelling is realistic and never cliché, thanks to layered writing and sensitive directing.
