The Witcher has established itself as one of Netflix’s most watched fantasy shows, with millions of viewers following the adventures of Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri. Season 3 received mixed reviews, with much praise for the performances of Henry Cavill and Anya Chalotra, but also some criticism regarding the narrative pace. However, the incredible worldbuilding and the epic battles kept audiences hooked until the very end, leaving fans eagerly anticipating what comes next.

Set in the so-called world of the Continent, The Witcher follows three main characters: Geralt of Rivia, a mutant monster hunter with a dark past, Yennefer of Vengerberg, a powerful sorceress seeking her place in the world, and Cirilla of Cintra, a princess bound to a mysterious destiny. Their lives collide in a saga full of reflections on universal themes such as destiny, redemption, and courage.

Created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the show has had two prequels, both produced for Netflix: the animated film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and the miniseries The Witcher: Blood Origin. Up to now, viewers have followed the first three seasons, totaling 24 episodes.

One of the most talked-about spoilers for Season 4 centers on the opening scene, which will explain Geralt’s recasting. Henry Cavill will leave the role, replaced by Liam Hemsworth. The series will address this change with a scene that justifies the protagonist’s new appearance. According to Redanian Intelligence, the scene will show a conversation between a young girl and a wandering narrator, highlighting the many legends and perspectives surrounding Geralt. Hemsworth’s arrival has already sparked speculation about the character’s future and the direction the series may take.
